More than a Campsite

Camping Dionis Zaton Mobile Home Premium. A cozy dining space with a table, chairs, and a view of the outdoors. The table is made of wood, and the chairs are made of wicker. There is a vase of flowers on the table, and the view through the window is of a lush green garden.

We believe camping is more than an easy-going way of travelling. It is a chance to immerse in nature and the local way of life. What better way to do that than to plant 4000 vines next to the campsite? As "nome est omen" our name is Dionis Camping Zaton.

The camp is located in Zaton in the region of Zadar, nearby which 3800 years old grape seeds were found. At Camping, we lean on the winegrowing tradition and the name of Dionis (Dyonisus), the Greek god of grape harvest and winemaking, marks it.

It also captures the festive ambience of Dalmatian summer nights. What better way to enjoy a small private festivity than a romantic dinner for two in a vineyard?

The vine story overflows to our mobile homes being named after autochthonous Croatian wines. And if you wonder why... Just to make you laugh when trying to pronounce them.

Philosophy

Soil in hands

At Dionis Camping Zaton, we feel hearty about encouraging guests to understand Dalmatian life philosophy, best described as the equilibrium between work and rest.

We know you’ve heard of 101 Dalmatians, but have you heard of Dalmatian fjaka, the afternoon idleness, for which all our units are fully equipped?

To understand it, you’ll need to get your hands dirty. No worries, we won’t make you cultivate the vines, but we shall offer different workshops for you to participate in, regarding local traditions, gastronomy and heritage.

Operating in an eco-friendly way

Being vine growers, we feel passionate about a sustainable approach to nature.

We prefer deeds to words so we have planted 10000 vines, preserved and planted trees and shrubs, watered from our fresh water source.

Each accommodation unit and the campsite grounds are equipped with sorting waste bins.

We use solar panels to heat the water in the facilities and mobile homes.

We care about the quality and the origin of the food served in our restaurant, as we want you to experience local tastes and scents.

Is it too cold to camp in winter?

Dionis Camping Zaton enjoys the mild Mediterranean climate of the Croatian coastline.

Our campsite is near Zadar, in the region of Dalmatia, meaning you will be indulged by a high level of insolation and mild winters.

One can hike or cycle to the nearby natural heritage sites, crowdless in winter months, or even drive an hour or two away to the snowy Croatian mountains and return to the warmth of the mobile home.

We understand your need to rest, be it winter or summer, so our campsite doors are open all year round.
